Who I am
I'm Tom Cooling and I run Horsepower Coaching from Truro, Cornwall. For data protection purposes the business is Tom Cooling, trading as Horsepower Coaching. If anything on this page is unclear, email me at tom@horsepowercoaching.co.uk and I'll answer it myself.
What this page covers
This page covers horsepowercoaching.co.uk only. When you buy a plan you are taken to TrainingPeaks, and when you message me on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook you are using those services. Each of them has its own privacy policy, and I don't control what they collect.
The contact form
When you send the form on the contact page I receive your name, your email address, which option you are interested in, your target event if you give one, and your message. I use them to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to set up your coaching. The form is run by Netlify, which hosts this site, so your message is stored on Netlify's systems and emailed to me. I keep enquiries for as long as I need them to deal with your question, and I delete them when they are no longer needed. The legal basis is that you have asked me to get in touch, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries about my coaching.
Measurement with Google Analytics
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, this site runs Google Analytics 4. It tells me which pages people read, which plans they look at, which buttons they click, how far down a page they get, whether they start and send the contact form, which option they picked on it, and whether a visit came from a Google ad. I use that to improve the site and to see whether the advertising I pay for is worth it.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and sends data about your visit to Google, including a shortened version of your IP address, your browser and device type and the pages you view. Google acts on my instructions for the analytics itself, and it also uses the data under its own terms. I have switched off Google's cross-device signals and personalised advertising features. Analytics data is kept in my Google Analytics account for 14 months and then deleted.
Nothing is sent to Google unless you accept. If you reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. The legal basis is your consent.
I never send your name, email address or the contents of your message to Google Analytics.

The hp_consent entry is strictly necessary to honour your choice and is set whichever button you press. The Google cookies are only set if you accept.
Buying a plan
Plans are sold through TrainingPeaks. When you click Buy on TrainingPeaks you leave this site, and TrainingPeaks handles your payment and your account under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me what personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it or delete it, object to how I use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email tom@horsepowercoaching.co.uk and I'll respond. If you are unhappy with how I've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If I change how this site uses data I'll update this page and the date at the top.
